A new initiative called Moja Elektrownia Wiatrowa offers prosumers the opportunity to receive financial support for the purchase and installation of backyard wind turbines and energy storage systems. This programme allows for a significant reduction in the costs associated with the investment, resulting in lower electricity bills and increased energy independence for households. The installations financed by this programme bring benefits not only in the form of savings, but also in environmental terms, promoting sustainable development.
Call deadlines
The first phase of the call for applications for the Moja Elektrownia Wiatrowa programme is due to start soon, with a launch planned for the third or fourth quarter of 2024. The project will be a pilot that will enable the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management to assess the level of interest in subsidies for home wind installations.
Programme budget
The programme has a budget of PLN 400 million, which represents significant financial support for those planning to invest in wind energy. PLN 50 million has been earmarked for the first call, which is expected to help assess the demand for such solutions and allow subsequent editions of the programme to better match participants’ expectations.
Funding conditions
Under the programme, subsidies of up to PLN 30 000 may be obtained for the installation of a backyard wind turbine, provided that they do not exceed 50% of the eligible costs or PLN 5 000 per kW. The power of the installation cannot exceed 20 kW.
Funding for energy storage
In addition, those who decide to install wind turbines can apply for support for the purchase of energy storage units with a minimum capacity of 2 kWh. In this case, it is possible to receive up to PLN 17 000, but no more than PLN 6 000/kW.
Application process
The funds will be paid once the investment has been completed. Applicants must first cover the installation costs from their funds and then apply for reimbursement.
The Moja Elektrownia Wiatrowa 2024 programme offers prosumers attractive financial support for the installation of wind turbines and energy storage systems, reducing investment costs and promoting energy independence. The total budget of PLN 400 million provides a real opportunity for the development of renewable energy sources in Poland.
