When does a facility need its own transformer station?
A dedicated transformer station is needed when: the connection power exceeds 100–250 kW (power supply from a public medium/low voltage substation becomes unprofitable), the facility wants to optimize distribution costs through its own settlement under the medium voltage tariff, a photovoltaic installation or a high-power ESS is planned, or when the current station is overloaded or requires modernization.
What is the cost of building a transformer station?
A containerized station (630–1,000 kVA) costs PLN 150–400 thousand net, an indoor station adapted to the building costs PLN 200–600 thousand. The cost depends on the transformer power, protection devices, number of switchgear bays, and DNO requirements. We prepare detailed quotes and construction designs.
How long does it take to build a transformer station?
The lead time for a transformer station is typically 3–6 months: technical design (4–8 weeks), obtaining a building permit (4–12 weeks), construction and assembly works (4–8 weeks), and acceptance by the DNO (2–4 weeks). Prefabricated containerized stations are ready faster – 2–4 months.
What inspections are required for a transformer station?
Transformer stations require inspections: daily (visual inspection), monthly (checking operating parameters), annual (electrical measurements, insulation condition, transformer oil), and thorough inspections every 5 years.
